Minutes from 4/13 and 4/14 Meeting

Wow guys. It's been a while since I've posted. I was abroad last quarter and kinda went AWOL from GCI. But now it's Spring Quarter and time for Battle of the Bulbs again! Nice.

So here are the minutes from last week's meetings.

Remember, Opening Ceremony is April 25th 8-10 PM in Hutch Courtyard. Come earlier and there will still be food left. We can't feed all of y'all.

We figured out what we're non-food, non-music things we're gonna have at the Opening Ceremony

· listhost signups

· tap water challenge

· big posters of facts and figures related to energy consumption (need help)

· historical exhibition (results from previous years, media from previous years, t-shirts)

· the Green Cup that Breck still has

· Seed bombs

· SJSF

As for food, we decided to have dinner food.

This year, we're also going to have an Educational Event. At this event, we'll have

· maybe a speaker

· facts and figures on energy consumption for the university. how much energy is used each day, etc.

· where does our school's electricity come from?

· basic education about electricity. do you know how it works

· progress of each dorm

· food, of course

In addition to our usual get-out-of-the-dorm-to-study study break in Ex Libris, we're going to have a 2nd Study Break. It will be an outdoor, glow-in-the-dark chalk art competition. It's simple, it's outdoors so they're not using their lights, and we'll keep the prizes simple (another box of glow-in-the-dark chalk) and have simple foods (hot chocolate or lemonade, cookies).

And as for our advertising campaign

· Facebook event but focus more on personal sharing. people sharing event on own facebook page, change status, change facebook profile picture, writing on people’s walls and tagging event at the same time NEED HELP

· Giant posters in Reynolds, flyer on Environmental Center bulletain

· House e-mail listhosts

· Related listhosts (sustainability, environmental studies, ECO, SJSF?)

· Asking people to put flyers on their door (need help)

· Easels and big posters in public locations (Reg, Bartlett, South, Pierce)

· Facebook fan page

· blog posts (and linking to those)
